Comments to Assignment Sunnydale

Was it worth the time it took to read?
That's very neat and effective. Thank you!
Would you read a sequel to this?
I might read a sequel to this if Sapphire & Steel meet the Doctor and Jet-as described by P.J. Hammond: "My friends saw Jet as a black woman, but I saw differently.I saw Jet as being a lot like Cassandra Peterson in "Elvira-Mistress of the Dark", white, black-haired, and with a wacky sense of humour", makes an appearance. Sapphire, Steel & Jet could use the Doctor's help, because as the Fourth Doctor stated in "City of Death" to the Countess, "Somebody is messing about with Time, and Time is my business". City of Death, 1979. It would also help if you'd clarify what the threat is.
So, how did you like it?
This is a fairly adequate story, but barring the vampire threat inherent in most Buffy stories, I saw nothing that would have merited the attention of Sapphire & Steel, let alone Jet, who P.J. Hammond said he saw as being like Cassandra Peterson, professional but with a wacky sense of humour, and he agreed with my choice for Diamond and Gold, Maurice Roeves for Diamond because of his hard face, and Fiona Fullerton as Gold, soft, malleable yet professional, Rula Lenska as Copper, Lesley Dunlop as Radium and Keith Barron as Silicon-absent-minded, but prone to flashes of pure brilliance. P.J. Hammond once asked me in a letter, "Have you thought of this yourself? Because if there had been another person, those are the actors I would have cast". To which I replied, "Yes. I'd also have cast Mary Tamm as Bismuth, charming but effective, Brian Bovell as Iron, black, charming but professional, and Tom Baker as Cobalt-a grey-haired, black-suited man with aeons of experience, and a world-weary tolerance of having to assist Steel, and P.J. Hammond told me in a letter that's how he saw them, too. A more interesting crossover would be the Tenth Doctor/Sapphire & Steel crossover, with Sapphire, Steel & Copper meeting the last of the Time Lords, the Doctor.

Love it! Don't think I've read Sapphire and Steel fanfic before, though I used to watch the show years ago. "All irregularities will be handled by the forces controlling each dimension..." brings back so many memories.
Would you read a sequel to this?
Of course I would read a sequel to this. It's well-written, has a fascinating plot, good characterization, concerns one of my favorite couples, and is seemingly unfinished. Please write a sequel if you have enough time and inspiration.

Wow i came across this by accident and being a huge Sapphire and Steel fan and loving BTVS, well this is terrific and very convincing and you got the characterisations spot on. Creepy and engaging. Loved it. Thanks. Do have anything else floating about that i could read? Regards siggy

You write SandS quite well. However, in my mind they would have been slightly more effective at interfering with the loop. Perhaps they needed Lead or Silver. When I wrote SandS fanfic it was with OCs called Carbon & Crystal, and I can't even imagine how they would have reacted to Sunnydale, used as they were/are to gloomy suburban England.

Great to find some S&S fanfic online. Just read that Big Finish (a UK audio company) are about to make a press statement to announce that they now have the rights to S&S & are to make a new series of audio dramas. No word on the catsing yet, but presumably they are trying to acquire the services of Lumley & McCallum. Please write more
